Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the failures of the Palestinian family in raising children from the point of view of university students, in addition to revealing the most important reasons behind the parents' practice of their common mistakes in raising children.

The researcher used the analytical descriptive method, and built a questionnaire consisting of (43) paragraphs divided into (3) dimensions and verified its validity and stability.

The questionnaire was applied to a random sample consisting of (146) students of Palestinian universities during the second semester of the academic year (2018/2017).

The study revealed that there are a number of common failures in raising children with relative weight (61%) in the total number of questionnaires, the results of the study showed that there were no statistically significant differences in gender, specialization, and place of residence, except for differences between the responses of the students of humanities and scientific studies for the latter group.

One of the main reasons for the common failures in raising children is the social, economic and political conditions experienced by Palestinians, the weakness of the religious persuasion of parents and the preoccupation of parents with their jobs at the expense of education.
