This study is concerned with an empirical investigation that explores the reasons that have caused the delay in public construction projects in Souk-Ahras.

The data was gathered from a survey of 28 construction firms .

The results of the survey have identified three types of delays: delays caused by bureaucracy of public management, the delays caused by the entrepreneur, and delays caused by external factors.

The results also showed a significant relationship between the three types of delays and experience of the entrepreneur, on the one hand, and between the three types of delays and the project size, on the other
