Abstract EN

The Euro-Mediterranean Agreement was adopted with the aim of establishing partnership between Algeria and the EU in several areas, including the economic sector in all its branches.

It established the rules governing the legitimate competition and defined all practices that are incompatible with competition and find equivalent rules in each party's competition laws.

Focused on agreements harmful to competition and arbitrariness resulting from the status of hegemony, monopoly and arbitrariness resulting from the status of dependency.

It also included control and coordination mechanisms aimed at eliminating anti-competitive practices applied by the competition authority of each Party represented by the Competition Council and the European Commission, as well as forms of cooperation and coordination between the two sides through the notification system, confidential exchange of information and access to consultations and technical cooperation.
