Abstract EN

In our research, we tried to address the problem of the sustainable agricultural development process and its relation to food security in Algeria and the seriousness of the policies allocated in this direction, While attempting to link the sustainable agricultural development process with the modern uses of renewable energy such as food engineering through the use of solar energy dryers.

A number of results have been reached, including: • Weak policies regarding self-sufficiency in agricultural and agricultural products, where a large proportion of foreign exchange earnings are directed to cover food imports, while national production is damaged and surplus is thrown into good production seasons.

• Algeria enjoys a distinct geographical location to achieve advantage of solar energy with the vastness of areas that receive sunshine throughout the year and high radiation rates, especially in the Algerian desert sprawling.
