This research aims at highlighting the importance of desert tourism in promoting economic and social development by highlighting the contribution of the desert tourism sector in Algeria., this makes us discover a contemporary type of desert tourism, which is different in the other tourist areas, as it attracts a large number of tourists to contain the monuments and monuments in addition to the nature of the distinctive climate.

Algeria is one of the countries with large tourism components and is rarely grouped in one country, yet has not risen to meet the requirements of regional and global desert tourism.

Despite the inclusion of tourism investments in the National Development Plan and realizing the importance of the tourism sector, especially desert tourism, by adopting a range of long-term initiatives and strategies, which extended from 2001 to 2030 as guidelines for tourism development.

But did not achieve what is required compared to successful international models.

So we tried through this study to highlight the problems and obstacles that stand in the way of achieving tourism development in line with the requirements of world tourism successful.

And taking the positive experiences of leading countries in this area such as: Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Libya.

Focusing on the achievement of physical tourism requirements, promotional media, and the dissemination of tourism culture in the desert cities to make it an important sector alternative product to the hydrocarbons sector
