Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the training needs in the cognitive domain for lst level primary school teachers in Riyadh (KSA) beside investigating differences in training needs when classifying them simple according to the demographic variables, of gender, experience and scientific qualification.

The study used the descriptive method and a purposive sample of 87 male and female teachers participated in the study by responding to the questionnaire which tackled the training need for elementary school teachers in the cognitive domain.

Data was analyzed through descriptive infinitival and non parametric statistics.

Results revealed the sample agreement to all the training needs for elementary school teachers in the cognitive domain and the absence of any significant difference in the sample response when classifying them according to the demographic variables of years of experience, scientific qualification.

The item (gender) was significant.

The study recommended empowering teachers about cognitive skills by initiating workshops, discussion groups and lectures.
