أثر برنامج تدريبي مستند للتصور العقلي في تنمية الاستيعاب القرائي لدى طلبة الصف السابع الأساسي في الأردن

Abstract EN

This study aimed at investigating the impact o f a training program based on mental imagery on developing reading comprehension skills among seventh grade students in Jordan.

A sample o f 80 male students were selected, 42 o f which were randomly assigned to experimental group whereas 38 were assigned to control group, at Bilal Ibn Rabah Basic School which is affiliated to the Directorate o f al-Qweismeh.

A test fo r examining reading comprehension was developed and given to students in both groups prior andpost implementing the program.

The training program based on mental imagery consisted o f 18 training sessions and was applied only on the experimental group.

The study found that the training program had a significant positive impact on the total and sub-tests o f the reading comprehension test in favor o f the experimental group.

The study recommended the necessity fo r providing the training o f mental imagery and the need fo r conducting further research on the impact o f mental imagery in light o f other variables
