Abstract EN

This study aims at finding out the reality of the working environment in the Nablus hospitals and its relation to the job satisfaction of the nurses, the professional pressure on them, occupational safety and the extent of their exposure to occupational diseases.

The results of this study showed that about 30 % of nurses believe that job satisfaction is bad or very bad and 50 % feel that job satisfaction is neither satisfactory nor bad.

In general, there are negative attitudes towards nurses’ satisfaction and this is reflected in the professional pressures they face, with 28.8 % of those suffering from high or very high pressure.

The results showed that about half of the nurses were exposed to a blood and body-borne accident, 93.4 % received vaccines against hepatitis, and that 78.5 % of the nurses applied safety precautions sometimes or always.

The study revealed several recommendations to improve the current status.
