Abstract EN

This study attempts to treat an important subject which has been revealed in considerable previous and recent Arabic writings It is a matter of the relationship between the past andthe present, between modern man and heritage of his ancestors who lived a long time ago.

The subject of inquiry, then, is the nature of the relationship that a contemporary critic knits with the contributions of the proceeding ones.

This has appealed The Syrian critic Ali Ahmed Saaid who is nicknamed Adonis to read this considerable heritage through analysing and approaching.

This research has adopted a purely critical way in order to develop a complete understanding of this wide heritage when it is meant to read the Arabic life and to perceive the view of this critic under the control of all his particular historical and sociological frameworks
