The dialectic of revelation and discretion, also known as the dilaectic of intimacy and disclosure, was the ambit around which love has always revolved, with its aspects, examples, cases, causes and consequences.

Such an issue wil be traced in this study through Ibn Hazm’s ’tawqu al-hamama fi al-ulfa wa al-ullaf’ a book of quite sociological, psychological, literary, philosophical, psycological, and even aesthetic, importance.

The study has tried to unveil the senses of intimacy between lovers as revelaed by narration (prose) and lyrically portrayed by poetry
