Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the current educational competencies that a basic level teacher should meet and their impact on achievement of the cognitive objectives among pupils.

The study adopted the descriptive approach.

Tool of the study was represented in a questionnaire.

Sample of the study consisted of (100) male and female teachers.

The researcher used the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) to process data of the study statistically, and frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and chi-square were calculated.

The researcher concluded findings the most important include: the educational competencies are important to be available with a basic level teacher in order to achieve the cognitive objectives, there are no statistically significant differences between male and female teachers in assessment of the educational competencies a basic level teacher should meet so as to achieve the cognitive objectives.

Because the educational competencies that this study included are considered important and they should be available with a basic level teacher, the study recommends that teachers should commit to them, the introduction to competencies should be based on when preparing and training teachers as these competencies are considered the major features of the current professional education, teachers also should be provided with the educational technology.
