The Assyrian king Shamshi - Adad I occupies the first position among the Assyrian kings over all the Assyrian history in general, he is the founder of the first state or an independent political entity of the Assyrians in the ancient Iraq.

The period of this King has seen the completion of many of the architectural and artistic achievements , as well as his works in administrative and military, and they found many structural texts talking about the activity of architectural which achieved by this king , and create many of the double temples such as the temple of the god Anu and Adad (E -Anu-Adad) and non-double temple, such as wild ox temple of the country (E-am kur-kur-ra)) and ziggurats like a ziggurat temple deity Enlil in the city of Assur.

This king has spared no effort in the reconstruction and renovation of cities and walls and evidenced by activity in the cities of Assyria and Mari and Karana, and set up memorials and obelisks commemorating victories of Assyria on its enemies
