The study aims at identifying the relationship between the dimensions of the emotional intelligence and the dimensions of anger for the students of Port Said University sports teams, in addition to national teams players.

The researchers used the descriptive approach.

The study targeted the students enrolled in national teams and Port Said University sports teams.

The study sample was chosen randomly from the original society where the sample size was exploratory 67 students, including 36 male students and 31 female students and the size of the core sample 165 students, including 97 male students and 68 female students.

Data collection instruments are the measure of the student athletes’ anger prepared by the researchers, and the measure of emotional intelligence prepared by Enas Safwat (2008).

One of the most important results that have been reached there are significant differences in the dimensions of emotional intelligence (social skills - empathy – emotional awareness – emotional control) between male and female athletes in favor of the female athletes, while there are statistically significant differences in the motivation dimension between male and female athletes in favor of the male athletes and there are significant differences in the dimensions of anger (anger reasons - emotions associated with anger – psychophysiological symptoms – outside anger – inside anger) between male and female athletes in favor of the male athletes.

The opposite statistically significant relations between the dimensions of anger (anger reasons - emotions associated with anger – psychophysiological symptoms – outside anger – inside anger) and the dimensions of emotional intelligence (motivation - social skills - empathy - awareness of the emotional - emotional control) for the male athletes.

The main recommendations: - -The preparation of training programs for the development of emotional intelligence of the college students in general and student practitioners of sports activity in particular.

- -Applying the anger measure prepared by the researchers periodically on the athletes to assess their emotion of anger.

- -The importance of sports psychiatrists within the Egyptian universities sports teams
