Abstract EN

The study aimed to measure the bank performance by using a form of return on equity (ROE) in each of the Algerian Popular Credit bank and the Algerian Al Baraka Bank.

It was to make a comparison between the performance of both banks under study in terms of return or cost-effectiveness, and efficiency in the management and cost control and the productivity of the assets of each bank on the one hand, and in terms of the risks faced by each bank on the other hand.

As the study found a number of results that the most important Algerian Baraka Bank is the best case compared to the Algerian Popular Credit although it has achieved an average return on equity rate is relatively lower, However, it has achieved an average return on the relatively higher asset rate achieved by the Algerian Popular Credit during the years of the study, so it can be said that the best management of the assets, as it is less risky compared to the Algerian Popular Credit although showing the average multiple of the right of ownership, so that relied on the funds and financial sources foreign less than Algerian Popular Credit.
