Most oil-producing countries suffer from major financial problems after the decline in world oil prices in 2014, experts and researchers agree that the best solution to this problem is economic diversification to end the dependence on the oil sector.

the continuing fall in the price of a barrel of oil has caused a budget deficit problem for the Algerian government, which has blocked several development programs, in addition, the trade balance deficit for the third successive year, and led to the depletion of foreign exchange reserves.

we will try in this article to examine ways of achieving economic diversification in Algeria through the adoption of the import substitution industrialization policy, on which the government began to work through several measures, among which, the reduction of imports and the encouragement of investments.
