Abstract EN

This article deals with the theoretical analysis of the impact of security crises on the performance indicators of the tourism sector and assess the magnitude of the negative impact of these crises and their types and causes, it also reviews statistically the impact of two kinds of security crises that hit two different tourist destinations, it is about the study of the impact of the 09/11 attacks on the United States tourism sector, in addition to analyzing the impact of the political instability in Tunisia beginning in 2010 and its impact on the competitive indicators of Tunisian tourism.

The indicators adopted in this study showed the large and negative impact of the security events on the competitive indicators of the tourism sector, also the magnitude of the negative impact of these events extends to many years after they occur.
