This study is concerned with the review of aquaculture methods in Algeria in different areas and the development in this sector pending the achievement of the objectives of the national plan for the prospects of 2020 regarding the contribution of aquaculture in the national economy.

Specific legislation has been developed for the requirements of aquaculture and its sustainability to preserve the environment and the diverse fish wealth for future generations.
