Abstract EN

Algeria faces several environmental challenges, which require it to work forlimit desertification and reduce forests, decrease emissions from energy combustion, work on water, health and agriculture adaptability to climate change, and use taxes as a mechanism as a tool for defiance these challenges.

Since the early 1990s, Algeria has set up a set of taxes to reduce environmental degradation as an effective economic means of protecting the environment, because it gives pollution a cost that the polluter must take into account, which leads them to control the sources of pollution and rationalize that dealing with the environment.

And increased its interest in the issuance of the Finance Act on 2002, and subsequent legislation, and media campaigns aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of environmental pollution.

This article aims at addressing the components of environmental taxes and fees and analyzing the development of their revenues in Algeria.
