The analysis of space in a text may be dealt with in two different ways : by discerning it through the integration of the narrative in the real life and view the places as refections of it, or by considering that the layout of those places in the narrative and the way they organise themselves into a system generate meaning, independantly from the exopsychic realities which are designated and named.
Thus we will analyse the confguration of the spaces in L’émigré, a short story by Myriam Ben, bearing in mind those two perspectives, and making use of the theoretical material provided by Greimas and Rastier.

L’analyse de l’espace dans un texte peut être envisagée de deux façons différentes : l’entrevoir à partir de la fonction d’ancrage du récit dans le réel et considérer que « les lieux » sont le reflet de ce dernier ou considérer que l’agencement de ces lieux dans le récit et la manière dont ils s’organisent en système produisent du sens, indépendamment des réalités exopsychiques qu’ils désignent en les nommant.
C›est en considérant ces deux perspectives et en faisant appel au matériau théorique élaboré par Greimas et Rastier que nous analyserons la configuration des espaces dans la nouvelle L’émigré de Myriam Ben.
