Abstract EN

The current study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of teaching using active learning strategies on second grade students’ acquisition of national and life knowledge.

To respond to the study questions, the researcher constructed the study tool which is a test for national and life knowledge, it is consisted of 50 items.

To achieve the objective of this study, the researcher designed the teaching lessons according to active learning strategies.

(82) male and female students were selected randomly from the basic second grade, the sample members were distributed into two groups; the experimental group including (41) male and female students and the control one including also (41) male and female students.

After applying the study tool and completing the experiment procedures, the study showed the following results: there are statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the mean scores of experimental group students and that of control group students in the national and life knowledge test in favor of the experimental group.

It also showed that there are statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the mean scores of experimental group students in the national and life knowledge test before and after the application in favor of the post application, and that active learning strategies are effective in acquiring the basic second grade students in Gaza the national and life knowledge according to a modified gain by blak..
