The study aimed to identify the evaluation of the books of Islamic education for elementary grades from male and female teachers' viewpoints.
The descriptive survey approach was used to achieve the objectives of the study.
The sample consisted of (131) teachers who studied Islamic education for the primary stage in the Arab schools in occupied Palestine in 1948.
A questionnaire that included the standards that must be met in Islamic education books for the primary stage.
The results showed that the availability level of Islamic educational books standards from teachers' viewpoints was (high), where the two dimensions; the content and scientific material ranked first, evaluation and its types ranked second, then educational outcomes ranked third at a high level for all.
The book shape and how it is produced ranked fourth at a medium level.
While criteria of book introduction, strategies, teaching methods, tools and activities were ranked fifth at a medium level for each.
Results showed that there are statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the estimates of teachers of Islamic books standards for grades the primary level was attributed to gender variable for females, and there were no statistically significant at (α ≤ 0.05) differences in teachers' estimations according to the variables (scientific qualification, years of experience).
In the light of the results of the study, the researchers recommend that the developers of the books should take a keen interest in the introduction, formulate it clearly and stimulate student motivation, using modern teaching strategies and methods, and diversify the methods and activities included in Islamic education textbooks for the primary stage.
