Abstract EN

This paper aims to clarify the confusion that surrounded the interest of teaching the Arabic on the hands of the French orientalists, by providing a reading of some of the educational work they have developed, both those directed to Europeans or Algerians.

In other words, we will provide a constructive reading of their school material, and try to reveal the intentions behind this education, benefiting in the process from their writings on the subject for the intended period, which are articles published in "La revue Africaine"and "Le journal Asiatique".
