This research aims at introducing Abu Tammam as viewed by two main prominent critics: Ibn Al-Mu’taz and Abu Bakr Al-Souli.

Abu Tammam is considered a landmark in ancient Arabic literature which reached its peak during the third and fourth centuries AH.

He greatly contributed to the advancement and activation of critical approaches through reexamination and innovation of the standardized form of Arabic poetry that used to be a reliable criterion for accepting or rejecting poetry as good or bad.
