The armed conflict in Syria has been continuing on since 2011, this conflict reflected negatively on the human rights situation in the country, especially the right to life, the prohibition of torture and the right to a fair trial.

This has led to serious violations of the provisions and principles of international humanitarian law, and especially the principle of distinction and the principle of proportionality.

International mechanisms have failed to prevent the continuation of this conflict, and this has increased the seriousness of the matter, especially under the principle of responsibility to protect, and this responsibility rests with all parties, whether the Syrian government or non-governmental armed groups.
