This research paper is concerned with the study of the most important aspects of the advantages of the direct foreign investment and the main paths in which the foreign technology together with the direct foreign investment is transferred to the local firms.Considering that Sonatrach is the most important partner for most import foreign investments in Algeria it was studied how these investments contributed to transfer the technology to the company as well as how it contributed in the development of exploration production and petrochemical industry.
