محددات النمو الاقتصادي في الجزائر : دراسة قياسية خلال الفترة 1970-2011

Abstract EN

The purpose of this research is to study and analyze the determinants of economic growth in Algeria during the period 1970 - 2011, using a set of determinants that are consistent with the reality of the Algerian economy and relying on both a modern growth theory and empirical studies.

In this study, we have relied primarily on the results of an estimating neoclassical production function in order to determine the contribution rate of the factors of production in economic growth, and in the second model the function of total-factor productivity “TFP” has been estimated and its explanatory variables have been studied.

The result of this study shows that Algeria's economic growth is mainly due to capital sharing and to the participation of the workforce and.

Also, there is a positive effect of the government’s expenditures, the foreign direct investment and the real exchange rates on the total- factor productivity over the long-term.

As for the error correction model, the result shows that there is a positive effect for each of the following variables: money supply, foreign direct investment and human capital on the totalfactor productivity over the short-term; besides, their effects differ between the short and long term.
