Abstract EN

This paper tackles one of the most important issues in translation’s studies as it deals with the debatable topic of the translation of children’s literature.

This latter has intrigued many translation’s theorists along the course of the last two decades till the present time.

Trough this paper, we will attempt to understand the tenets of this literary production, since it is appealing to both young (children) and adult recipients.

The rational that is to be tackled here is the translation of children’s literature into the target language and the so many considerations the translator may encounter.

These considerations may be ranging between what is educational, pedagogic and entertaining.

In fact, this variety is what makes the process of translation more intricate to be successful.

As such, this study aims at clarifying the procedures and strategies that must be taken into consideration by the translator of children’s literature in order to translate a text that is equivalent and in harmony in function with the source text, and hence acceptable by the recipient public
