Abstract EN

Behind every technical system there is a social one animating it.

And with the development of the technique appears the dynamical relationship between the technical and the social parts of the system.

Here, the social components develop the technique, then reorganize themselves according to the outcomes.

With this dialectic action of development/reorganization, the social system needs a visionary leadership capable of overcoming the functional disorders that may occur in the process, creating a smooth passage for the total system to the new state found by the technique.

For the type of leadership, however, being effective in the first state, or through the metamorphosis, does not necessarily mean having efficiency in the next phase.

Moreover, with every novel situation dictated by the technical system, the social system tends to adapt and integrate its components with the new set of data, allowing consequently the emergence of a special type of leadership that take control over the system to attain the aspired goal.

At this point, the effect of the sociotechnical system on the leadership behavior occurs.

From the artisan-teacher to the e-leadership, this article comes to highlight the chronological development of the relationship between leadership as an organizational behavior and the sociotechnical system as a hatcher and a polisher of it.
