Abstract EN

This research aims at identifying the orientation level towards the dimensions of excellence in sport for middle school classes, considering that excellence for this group includes skilful and physical abilities as well as psychological and behavioural, that enable the sportsman to be distinguished and successful in his/her sport career and reach advanced levels.

The dimensions of excellence in sport may vary from learning to be responsible to others’ respect and self-control.

And since because the psychological and behavioural sides are very important and so related the physical and skilful ones for beginner sports people, the researcher used a sample of 72 pupils in some establishments of M’sila during the school year 2012/2013 in order to know the orientation level towards the dimensions of excellence and compare it with the mid testing, in addition to comparison regarding sex and the kind of sport whether individual or collective.

The research paper concludes that pupils have an acceptable level in the dimensions of excellence in sport
