Human trafficking is a crime that affects basic human rights and has profound impact on every human being's right to life.

Human trafficking crime also affects a person's right to physical integrity which is fully protected by law against any infringement.

Divine Law, international agreements, constitutions and positive laws have all provided for the protection of these two rights as common ones that should be enjoyed by all people without any distinction whatsoever.

This crime is serious as it infringes human being's right to life and physical integrity by regarding human beings as sold and bought commodities.

In view of the economic, social, political conditions coupled with armed conflicts currently prevailing in some countries, the effects of such crime had exacerbated.

Human trafficking is a risk-free and profitable crime, and that is why it is ranked the third largest crime in the world.

This crime has multi forms such as working under inhuman conditions (the new version of slavery); prostitution, embryo implantation and organ transplant.

Some of the said forms are new; some are old but took on a new form, while others are legal such as underage and online marriage.

This shows that this crime takes on various forms over time
