International arbitration is one of the peaceful means to resolve conflicts among countries, especially the border conflicts due to their legal aspect and to the fact that it needs experts and special judges.

That is why arbitration is better than other means to resolve such conflicts The international arbitration had a major role in resolving some of border conflicts between member states in federal countries because of the absence of solutions in national laws.

This is the reason why some of the federal countries had recourse to international arbitration in order to resolve these conflicts.

This is what Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, ExYugoslavia and Sudan haved one.A question still remains about role of international arbitration in border conflicts resolution of the disputed territories in Iraq and other federal countries.
