Abstract EN

This paper discusses Ibn-tumart's view on "Imamah" or the ultimate leadership in Islam.

In his book "أعز ما طلب" which means the most precious sought-after, He expressed his views on "Imamah" and the impeccable Imam or leader.

He also expressed his views about "Mahdi" and his peculiar symptoms and the people who will fight for truth in the last times before the end of the world.

This were the main issues in the book and in fact, the main arguments of Ibn-tumart's revolutions.

The religious leadership was Ibn-tumart's source of authority's allegations either spiritually or politically.

This Imamah argument was also the best resort for several religious sections chief of which is the Shi'ats.

Like the Shi'at, Ibn-tumartportrayed himself as a descendant of prophet to legitimate his allegations as the waited Mahdi.

Also like the Shi'ats, he emphasized on the doctrine of Imamah as one the pillars of religion.

Nevertheless, he didn't affiliate himself to the Shi'at in fact, he created a new section altogether.

Provided the prevailing situation of ignorance and less sophistication of his time, Ibn-tumart was able to draw peoples' loyalty as much as his sayings were considered as new revelation for he alleged that he is the Mahdi himself.
