Abstract EN

Price stability is among the most important objectives of different countries through their global policy including monetary policy.

Since the early 90s, several countries have adopted inflation targeting policy, considered as an analytical framework of monetary policy.

In this study; we tried to know the influence of monetary policy on controlling inflation rate in Algeria and therefore the implementation of an inflation targeting policy.

We gave the concepts of the monetary policy and the inflation targeting, and the relation between them, according to the different theories, this study covers the period 1970- 2012
