Abstract EN

This paper aims to discuss how the investment in the green economy can be an important opportunity of economic diversification in Algeria.

How the exploitation of the huge environmental potential, can guarantee the structural transformation of the economy, push the industry toward strategic fields.

Thus, to diversify the national product, increasing the added value of sectors outside the hydrocarbon and promoting green sectors.

Based on the analysis of the green economy’s indicators in ten vital sectors, the study concluded that, in Algeria, major efforts have been taken place in the field of environment protection; those efforts can be considered as a cornerstone and a good base of green economy.

However, these initiatives should be strengthened and linked to each other as a part of a national global strategy to promote green economy.

By promoting sustainable patterns of production and consumption, Redistribution public and private investment and provide supportive conditions and policies to move to a green economy.

Without neglecting the role of the private sector through corporate social responsibility, and the importance of training and education systems to create a base for green jobs opportunities.
