T his article investigates the issue of overt and covert V-movement within the generative framework.
With respect to V-movement, two major classes of languages have been identified, those such as English and Italian, where movement V-to-T° takes place in covert syntax, and those such as French where movement V-to-T° occurs in overt syntax.
We will demonstrate that V moves overtly up to T° in Standard Arabic.
Concerning T-checking in the sequence [X[+T] + V-imperfectif], it is proposed that the imperfective verb is unmarked for tense.
Being [-T], the V raises to T°ASP .
T°ASP is anaphoric, and hence checks its time feature via a T-chain mechanism: [T°REF-T°ASP-V].
Finally, it is argued that the DPsubject in SVO has the following extended structure: [CP(Spec DPsubject (C° [TP° (Spec pro) [AGR° (V-AGR))))]].

Cet article fournit une analyse de la montée implicite et explicite du verbe dans le cadre génératif.
Par rapport à la montée du verbe, deux types de langues ont été modifiés.
A la différence du Français, où les verbes se déplacent explicitement vers T°, les verbes principaux en Anglais ne montent pas à T°.
Dans cette langue, un mouvement implicite est la seule possibilité d’obtenir une dérivation convergente.
Nous proposons que les verbes se déplacent explicitement vers T° en AL.
Quant à la façon de coder l’information temporelle dans la construction [X[+T]+V.imperfectif], nous proposons que le verbe imperfectif est dépourvu du temps.
Etant [-T], le verbe se déplace vers T°ASP.
(T°ASP) est anaphorique.
Le verbe vérifié ainsi son trait par le biais d’une chaine-T étendue : [T°REF-T°ASP-V].
Finalement, nous proposons que le sujet dans SVO constitue avec pro une chaine étendue.
La structure de DPsujet que nous proposons est donc la suivante : [CP(Spec DPSuj (C° [TP° (Spec pro) [AGR° (V-AGR))))]].
