Abstract EN

Companies’ role has become pivotal in the development process, as shown by the successes achieved by developed economies in this area.Companies have realized that they aren’t isolated from society and became aware of the need to expand activities to include more than production activities such as the issues of society and environment clearly reflected in social and environmental responsibility.

This paper presents a study on both social and environmental responsibility, the importance of their impact on society and the extent of the contribution of Arabic oil companies represented in both companies Sonatrach and Qatar gas through a developmental nature reflect programs, charity, social and environmental contribution in order to achieve local development and help discover the reality of these programs and their impact on local communities, relying on various data, reports, official statistics and their analysis.

This study came to find out that both companies contribute through social responsibility in supporting various social, educational, cultural and sport activities in dissimilar and varying degrees.
