Abstract EN

The legal status of women in general is among the research areas that are of interest not only to specialists in legal sciences or Islamic law, but also to other specialists in social sciences.

However, what is said by specialists in civil law and Islamic law in this area is more important and has a greater impact because of its direct relation to the legal texts or divine texts determining the status of Women, which reflects the paramount importance of the subject of this study.

What adds importance to this study is the fact it does not address unproblematic issues related to the legal status of the Algerian women, such as the status of women in legislation or in other official sources of Algerian law.

On the contrary, the study focuses on the status of Algerian women under international treaties and according to the principles of Islamic law; both of which raise a large number of problematics that require solutions.

This is added to the fact that it is the first study of the subject that involves the conjunction and disjunction of Islamic principles and international conventions.
