Abstract EN

This research deals with the principle of responsibility as one of the most important principles of Shari’ah policy, which determines the relationship between the ruler and his people, through an analysis of the speech of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah that was delivered at the opening of the first session of the ninth legislative term of the Consultative Council 2016.

This speech represents a practical example of the way the Muslim ruler deals with his people and nation, in the sense that it shows his relentless care to follow up their living conditions and identify their problems and needs, so as to achieve their interests and provide them with whatever brings them happiness, tranquility and decent life, including all classes and all social groups.

This research also deals with a number of the principles of Islamic politics involved in the speech of His Highness, such as the principle of justice and equality, the principle of education, as well as the principle of responsibility (under study).

The research equally highlights the social phenomenon of “abandoned wives” that His Highness has drawn on in His speech and that constitutes a real threat to family structure by explaining its legal status, the circumstances that lead to it and the most convenient solutions to solve it.
