Through this paper, we try to shed light on the fact and the perspectives of the economic and monetary integration for East-African countries.

The analysis is composed of three parts.

The first one tackles the notion and steps of the economic integration; while in the second part, the study is about the reality and the objectives of the common market in East and South Africa.

The last part discusses the economic and monetary actuality in East African countries
