Abstract EN

The problematic of this study is based on how time is structured in Algerian writer Ahlam Mostghanemi’s novel Aber Sareer.

We tried to approach it through adopting Gerard Jeanette’s method of studying time structure.

We studied the time breaks embodied in the techniques of “analepsis” (flashback) and “prolepsis” (flashforward) and other types of these techniques.

We also dealt with other important narrative acts.

First, these narrative acts led to the quickening of the narration pace (through summary and ellipse) then led to slowing it once more (through pause and scene).

All previous narration acts and techniques resulted in making Aber Sareer unique and remarkable, and a “time novel” par excellence i.e.: a novel that devotes time to some issue.
