Abstract EN

Through the study of Oman's population before Islam, it is found that this region was the source of attraction since ancient times, where the date of its population go back to the ancient tribes, such as the (A'd) and the tribes (Tasam, Jadis, Emlaq), as well as the research found that Dhofar region, one of the districts of Oman, was inhabited by one of Himyarite kings.

This shows that Oman had had contact along with the HimyarState.The research concluded that Oman was also inhabited by non – Arab tribes that their roots return to Africa such as (Albayasira tribe).

There were two emigrations to Oman, the first at the rule of Ya‘rub bin binQahtan, who was able to impose his domination on the south of Arabian Peninsula including Oman and Hadhramaut , and the second emigration was Al-Azd tribes and its septs after the breach of Ma'rib Dam about the 6th century AD.

There were other tribes inhabited Oman such Banu Sam bin Lo'ay and banuJamhur from Quda‘a , and also banuJudhayma and other tribes.

The main reason of arriving these tribes successively to Oman was for economic, social and political reasons and because of the abundance of beneficent and its mild climate ,As a result Oman became a center to persuade people to dwell in at that historical epoch.
