Abstract EN

This research studies grain mills in the governorate of Basrah, it has recorded that the total number of grain mills are 24 full activity mills till 2015.

Their spatial distribution varied according to administrative units, Basrah district occupied the first place in terms of the number of mills and the employees working there in comparison with the other districts.

However, it has been noticed that there are some districts free from any industrial facility as in (Faw and Shatt El-Arab) districts.

Accordingly, the center of Basrah district has the largest number of workers in this industry where the number of workers is about 675 out of 759 workers in the grain mills in the governorate.

Thus, dominates 88,93% of the total amount of workers according to administrative units in the governorate.
