This search gives an overview of music and singing in the Mamluk Age through several aspects :music and singing in a society of that age, and the attitude of the sultans and princes towards that; the study also looks at the viewpoint of religious scholars as to whether music and singing is lawful or unlawful.

The research lists musical compositions, the most famous musicians and singers, and the festivals held at that time where music and singing were presented.

The paper reviews also some musical manuscripts dating back to the Mamluk Age.
