Background & Objective: this study provide an objective survey of laparoscopic Cholecystectomy at Al Mouassat hospital, determine the frequency of complication, especially bil duct injuries.
Methods & Materials: the study sample consist of complete records of 902 laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients.
Between February 2006 and march 2009.
Results: of the sample, 18 patients (2%) experienced complications within 30 days.
Of surgery, 6 cases of biliary tree injuries (0,66%) and 2 cases of death.
Conclusions: laparoscopic cholecystectomy is safe, effective and nowadays cansiderd as gold standerd technique for the treatment of gallstones.
