Abstract EN

This study examines the spatial distribution of population at the level of the District of Haffeh and its sub-districts administrative units, in 2012, and the effect of the physical and human factors.

The most important findings of the study are the variety of the arithmetic and physiological density from sub-district to another, while the arithmetic density increases from the West as it is situated in a low and middle mountain, with moderate climate and steepness, and water network providing regular agriculture activities like in Haffeh (240.18 people per.km²); the physiological density increases from the East as it situated on the high mountain like in Slunfeh (672.19 people per.km²).

Gini Coefficient shows a kind of spatial equity of population distribution across sub-districts area for each administrative units areas (9.53%) and arable areas (2.83%).

The study shows the variety in the distribution of settlements size categories as the small (-500) are concentrated in three administrative.

Units (Kansba, Mzeraa, Ein Tineh) missing the category (+2000), where (500-999) in two administrative.

The spatial patterns of settlements are close to clustered which correspond to the high density of settlements.

The study concluded that there is a need for more economic investment in order to increase population density, the volume and the development of some villages.
