Abstract EN

An overall look at the Mamluk literature, its trends and approaches, shows an evident shift in poetical vision.

The text has turned into a literary product marked by artistic craftsmanship, based on contrast, and pervaded by paronomasia.

Added to that is the diversity in word engineering that addresses the recipient using what is familiar and particularly admirable to him/her.

However, this development in the poetical address is simply a direct reaction, intended by poets as a pure expression of the spirit of the age.

Consequently, new methods of expression were innovated to drive the poetical vision far ahead through the channels of intellect and life.

This, of course, has resulted in changing a lot of concepts, and creating a plethora of critical and artistic standards
