Abstract EN

Background and Objective: The aim of the study is to demonstrate the power obtained by combining autosomal and Y Methods & Materials: cases examined to confirm the ratios in the laboratory, using Kit Powerplex16, Y-Plex.

DNA was extracted from blood samples using QIAmp1 DNA Mini Kit (QIAGEN) according to manufacturer’s instructions and the PCR products were typed using an ABI PRISM 310 Genetic Analyzer.

The results were analyzed using GeneMapper ID v3.0 software.

In the case scenario, Paternity index LH and corresponding posterior probability WH were calculated using an excel worksheet implementing the method described by American Association of Blood Banks AABB.

We used haplotype frequencies from YHRD database (all populations), which is by far the largest Y Short tandem repeats( Y-STR) database available with more than 112,005 different haplotypes Results: During the study we found using the existing systems on the chromosome Y STRs haplotype to confirm the ratios in the case of incest in addition to the use of somatic chromosomes systems Short tandem repeats (STRs) high paternity index, reaching to the possibility of paternity to <99.997% Conclusion: The systems provide STRs on somatic chromosomes and used at the present time very useful information, but that the existing regulations on the Y chromosome often provide important information in some cases ratios can not be obtained the adoption of somatic chromosomes systems alone.
