Abstract EN

This study includes the use of the remote sensing techniques and relevant systems on the southern part of the coastal mountains chain of Syrian Arab Republic, and choosing the ideal locations to apply the rainwater harvesting systems were based on remote sensing techniques.

These techniques were used to locate the tectonic sinks and the flow directions.

The land use information that were obtained via visual satellite images that covered the studied area, helped identify the properties of the ground shape, and the related idea of the water harvesting.

Information has been gathered and located using the help of the GIS, which enables one to benefit from the process of evaluating and planning.

Then after analyzing, the results and applying standard methods, 68 locations have been detected that fit with all techniques.
