During the 1970’s, political violence in Argentina resulted in massive violations of human rights that included thousands of deaths, prolonged and arbitrary arrests and other violations.
In 1983, Argentina began its transition to democracy.
Due to its ongoing success in the prosecution of human rights criminals, it is arguable that Argentina has one of the best records of transitional justice in the world

Après le coup d'état militaire en Argentine en Mars 1976, la dictature argentine a commis des graves violations des droits de l’homme, des milliers de personnes disparaissent, emprisonnées sans procès, parquées dans des camps de concentration.
En 1983, l'Argentine a commencé sa transition vers la démocratie.
En raison de son succès continu dans la poursuite des auteurs de violations des droits de l'homme, l'Argentine est devenue un des meilleurs exemple de justice transitionnelle dans le monde.
