Abstract EN

The aim of the present study was to analyze and report on the clinical characteristics of intradural extramedullary tumors, outcome and surgical complications were discussed.

51 patients with intradural extramedullary tumors who were treated surgically at Almawassat University Hospital between 2005 and 2013 were examined.

The location of the tumor, pre-and postoperative symptoms, mortality and morbidity were discussed.

The most frequent site of the tumor was the thoracic region 43.7%.

All of the patients presented with radical pain and 91% were with motor deficits while 73% were with sensory disturbances.

Total resecting was a diminished 94.2% to subtotal to 5.8%.

Surgical complications included cerebrospinal fistulas in7.8%, meningitis in 5.8%, and recurrence was in 5.8%.

There is no death occurring this study.
